Zimmer Persona® Trabecular Metal™ Tibial Plate Recalled by FDA

After receiving FDA approval in March 2012, Zimmer started to receive complaints of loosening and radiolucent lines—a type of X-ray evidence that indicates loosening. The FDA issued a Class 2 recall of the devices for all lots and sizes used in both left and right knees in March 2015. Medical device distributors, hospitals, and surgeons were notified of the recall by mail in February 2015.
